Job summary

The Lutheran Home in Arlington Heights, IL, a faith-based skilled nursing community, seeks dependable housekeeping staff. Compensation ranges from $16.50 to $17.75 per hour, with Full-Time and PRN opportunities available.

Responsibilities include thorough cleaning of resident areas, dining spaces, and common areas, plus operating floor-care equipment as part of routine duties. Applicants should have experience with floor-care equipment and prefer prior housekeeping or environmental services

• Remove trash from resident rooms, common areas, and workstations during shift.
• Clean and reset dining room, including tables, chairs, and floors.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout the community.
• Clean resident rooms, restrooms, and other assigned areas.
• Operate floor care equipment as part of regular duties.
• Follow cleaning and infection control protocols.
• Support residents by maintaining a welcoming space.

What You'll Do

• Remove trash from resident rooms, common areas, and workstations throughout your shift
• Clean and reset the dining room, including tables, chairs, and floors, before and after meal service
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout the skilled nursing community
• Clean resident rooms, restrooms, and other assigned common areas
• Operate floor care equipment (stripping, waxing, buffing) as part of regular cleaning duties
• Follow cleaning and infection control protocols
• Help residents feel cared for through the quality of the space you maintain

What You'll Need

Required:

• Experience operating commercial floor-care equipment (stripping, waxing, buffing)

Preferred:

• Previous housekeeping or environmental services experience
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
• Reliable and detail-oriented

Pay

$16.50–$17.75/hour, based on experience, for both Full-Time and PRN schedules

Schedule options

• Full-Time: Monday-Friday 11:00 AM–7:00 PM with weekend rotation
• PRN (as-needed): Choose the shift that fits your life — 10:00 AM–6:00 PM, 11:00 AM–7:00 PM, or 12:00 PM–8:00 PM
