Job summary

Mount Sinai Medical Center of Florida, Inc. in Miami Beach seeks an Environmental Service Worker Light to maintain hygiene across patient areas and public spaces. You will perform daily cleaning, disinfection, and safe handling of linens and supplies, following established procedures and infection-control guidelines.

Experience in housekeeping or healthcare is preferred. This full-time role contributes to a patient-centered environment at Mount Sinai’s Miami Beach campus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Some experience in housekeeping, linen maintenance, or healthcare is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Spots cleans and damp wipes walls, windowsills, and fixtures daily.
• Dusts mop floors and damp mops floors, paying attention to baseboards and using appropriate solutions.
• Disinfects patient beds, controls, motors, and mattresses after patient discharge following proper procedures.
• Maintains proper chemical handling and dilution; keeps labels visible and accessible.
• Cleans and disinfects patient care units and public areas per 7-step cleaning procedures.
• Transports clean linen carts and ensures linen loads are properly covered.
• Transports soiled linen using universal precautions; follows infection-control guidelines.

Responsible for economical use of supply as controlled through distribution. Keep labels on the chemicals.* Demonstrates knowledge of proper cleaning and disinfecting of patient care units by following 7 steps cleaning procedures.* Cleans and disinfects public areas, pantries, waiting areas, utility rooms within assigned areas.* Demonstrates knowledge of hard surface floor care, dust, damp mopping and burnishing/buffing as evident on observation. Communicates and works with floor tech that to maintain floor shine's with any information.* Demonstrates knowledge of carpet care such as vacuuming, spot cleaning, and bonneting.* Attends and participates in monthly department staff meetings staff development programs when scheduled.
