Description

The Environmental Services Worker III may work in any location on client premises. The general responsibilities of the position include those listed below, but the department may identify other responsibilities of the position. These responsibilities may differ among locations, depending on business necessities and client requirements.

What You Will Do
  1. Act as a department champion - supporting management and culture growth.
    • Will be required to train new and current employees.
    • Provide admin support to peers and help guide them through UH practices (EDA, Pay Stubs, etc.)
  2. Perform Environmental Services duties in an effective, efficient manner completing all steps in the 7 Step Cleaning Process.
    • Perform duties according to quality standards to ensure a clean and comfortable environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
    • Keep cleaning cart, equipment hopper room, and trash-room clean and organized. Ensure all cleaning materials are properly labeled.
    • Properly and safely use cleaning chemicals per manufacturer standards.
    • Clean offices, patients’/residents’ rooms, classrooms, common areas, restrooms, halls, food service areas, and other areas requiring attention.
    • Clean light fixtures, ceilings, vents, walls, mattresses, furniture, windows, and window coverings.
    • May clean furniture and change cubical and shower curtains.
    • May wash walls and maintain baseboards and cove base molding.
    • May empty trash, linen, and garbage containers, transport waste to outside compactors using sealed trash carts.
    • Handle hazardous waste according to government regulations and Sodexo standards.
    • Transport and package Regulated Medical waste and Chemo waste.
    • Participate in snow and ice management duties, including snow removal operation.
    • Drive a PIV (Powered Industrial Vehicle).
  3. Provide positive interactions with patients, families, visitors, and employees. Assist as needed or find the appropriate individual to provide assistance.
  4. Maintain floor surfaces and stairwells including sweeping, mopping, buffing, steaming, scrubbing, polishing, stripping, and refinishing hard-surface floors using heavy equipment.
    • Vacuum, spot clean, and extract carpeted floors.
    • Assist in the maintenance of wood floors, including cleaning, screening, stripping, sanding, and refinishing.
    • Inventory floor care products.
  5. Replenish supplies and materials.
  6. Perform routine operational maintenance of cleaning equipment per manufacturer specifications and report any repairs needed.
  7. Comply with safety policies and participate in safety meetings, training, and hazard assessments. Operate infection control equipment as required and adhere to OSHA and local safety requirements.
  8. Attend and complete training programs as designated by Cleveland Medical Center within the required timeframe.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with all policies and standards.
  • Refer to departmental documentation during orientation for specific duties.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of Protected Health Information (PHI), completing annual training and adhering to UH policies and procedures.
