Job summary

MercyOne Northeast Iowa seeks an Environmental Services Tech in Waterloo to clean patient care areas and public spaces per standards. The role covers patient rooms and offices, with a day shift schedule and a multi-site hospital system environment.

Applicants must read and write English, communicate with staff and patients, and maintain a professional image. Amentity includes 32 hours per week with weekend/holiday rotation and on-site work.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and understand English, and communicate effectively with patients, visitors, staff, and physicians.
• Mandatory Reporter. If driving, Iowa MVR and valid license may be required.
• Ability to work with a large degree of independence.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient/resident room cleaning to ensure a clean and sanitary environment.
• Performs cleaning in administrative and support areas.

As an Environmental Services Tech at MercyOne, you will clean and disinfect the patient care areas and public areas of MercyOne Northeast Iowa in accordance with cleanliness standards. Adheres to MercyOne's performance expectations and performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of MercyOne.

• Performs patient/resident room cleaning to ensure clean and sanitary environment.
• Performs cleaning in administrative and support areas.
• Performs special functions and requirements to ensure work area is maintained in a neat and
• orderly manner and available for use.
• Keeps equipment clean/cart and closet clean, orderly and operational.
• Contributes to the safety, security and efficiency of the department.
• Demonstrates proper floor cleaning procedures and proper equipment care.

Schedule:

• Full time .8 (32 hours per week)
• Day Shift
• 6:30 am – 3:00 pm but can vary. Weekend and holiday rotation.

General Requirements:

• Requires the ability to read, write and understand the English language, and communicate effectively with patients, visitors, staff, and physicians while performing their job duties.
• Mandatory Reporter. If driving, need valid Iowa driver’s license and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)
• Ability to work with a large degree of independence.
• Must display professional image.
• Ability to be sensitive to customer needs.
• Basic computer skills.
