Job Description
The Environmental Services Attendant (ESA) plays a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment at Providence Care Hospital. The ESA supports hospital policies and procedures, aiming for high-quality service and fostering a positive work environment.
Skills and Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Grade 12)
- Knowledge of industrial/commercial cleaning procedures and hospital standards
- At least six months of relevant sanitation/cleaning experience; healthcare experience preferred
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Internet use
Responsibilities
- General duties such as waste disposal, linen handling, and operating cleaning equipment
- Daily cleaning tasks including dusting, mopping, vacuuming, waste removal, and washroom cleaning
- Thorough cleaning routines, including high-dusting, floor cleaning, and disinfection of isolation rooms
- Additional tasks like floor stripping, wall washing, curtain cleaning, light bulb replacement, equipment and furniture movement, snow removal, and operating hospital vehicles and lifts
- Monitoring supply levels, completing order forms, and communicating needs to the Service Manager
- Recording project work and participating in quality audits to ensure cleaning standards
