Job summary

PureHealth is seeking an Environmental Services associate to maintain a clean and orderly facility in a post-acute setting. You will follow established procedures, support infection prevention, and assist with daily housekeeping tasks across patient and public areas.

Shifts available: 7am-3:30pm and 2pm-10:30pm. Weekend and holiday coverage may be required. Candidates should be reliable, able to lift up to 60 pounds, and committed to teamwork and patient safety.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Six months experience in customer service.
  • Willingness to learn cleaning protocols and safety standards.
  • Ability to work in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

  • Clean patient areas daily and after discharge.
  • Disinfect surfaces and handle cleaning chemicals safely.
  • Process laundry and manage soiled linens.
  • Maintain public areas for a positive first impression.
  • Support infection prevention and HIPAA compliance.
  • Operate within post-acute facility protocols.

Position Summary

Works with EVS team members to ensure the facility is maintained in a clean and orderly condition by following procedures in compliance with prescribed standards of cleanliness. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Patient area daily room cleaning
  • Patient area discharge cleaning
  • Patient area isolation cleaning
  • Disinfection and chemical use
  • Laundry processing (patient linens)
  • Laundry processing (personals)
  • Rover/ Public area cleaning
  • Office/ Ancillary cleaning
  • Hard floor care
  • Carpet care
  • ALF weekly unit cleaning service
  • Handling of soiled and clean linen
  • Specialty cleaning in areas including elevators, entrances, common areas,
  • Solid and bio medical waste collection, transportation and disposal of
Competencies
  • Thorough and quality floor care: hard surface and carpet routine care, cleaning surface, corners, Project care: buffing, stripping/waxing, shampooing and extraction
  • Knowledge of biomedical waste procedures; Solid waste, biomedical waste and soiled linen handling aligns with policy and regulations utilizing P.E and proper lifting techniques
  • Thorough and timely daily and discharge room cleaning to maintain facility in clean, aseptic, appropriate manner at all times
  • Maintain public areas for outstanding first impression to customers at all times
  • Laundry: process bed linens, personals, equipment operation, safety and cleanliness of work area
  • Laundry: solid waste, biomedical waste, and soiled linen handling per policy and regulations

Work Environment

This job operates in a post-acute setting. This role requires regular walking to various locations around the facility. This role also routinely comes into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses. Team member is expected to adhere to facility’s no-smoking policy.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 60 pounds.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a position in a post-acute setting that is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Weekend and holiday shifts will be required.

HIPAA

Team members are required to adhere to policies and procedures implementing HIPAA requirements for the privacy and security of protected health information. Team member are permitted to use and/or disclose only minimum amount of Protected Health Information necessary to complete assigned tasks. Reports all suspected violation of company’s HIPAA policies or procedures to facility CEO.

Required Education/Experience
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • A minimum of six (6) months’ experience in a customer service role
Preferred Education/Experience
  • A minimum of one (1) year experience in a similar role
