Hunton seeks an experienced attorney to join its nationally recognized Environmental Law practice group as a Senior Attorney in our Washington, DC office. This is a benefits-eligible position with a minimum annual billable expectation of 1,500 hours and an opportunity to work on sophisticated, high-impact environmental matters for established clients.
We are looking for a candidate with at least four years of substantive experience in environmental permitting, NEPA compliance, project development, and regulatory counseling. The ideal candidate will have experience advising on permitting strategy, supporting clients through federal and state approval processes, preparing and reviewing NEPA and related environmental documents, and helping project teams navigate complex regulatory requirements. We welcome candidates from private practice, government agencies, and relevant trade associations.
This role is well suited for a lawyer who is thoughtful, self-motivated, and collaborative, with strong written and oral communication skills, sound judgment, and intellectual curiosity. The attorney in this position will join a team that values high-quality work, practical advice, mentorship, and collegiality, and will have the opportunity to contribute to significant, long-term matters with experienced colleagues and sophisticated clients. At the time of posting, the expected salary range for this is $250,000 to $300,000. Actual salary offers may vary based on a number of factors, including but not limited to, education, training, skill sets, licensure and certifications, practice area, experience, internal equity, and market data.
