Job summary

Soundview Consultants is seeking an Environmental Scientist for our Northwest team. Based in Gig Harbor or Mount Vernon, you will conduct field investigations, analyze data, and contribute to technical reporting across wetlands, streams, and shorelines.

The role targets mid-career scientists who can work independently, mentor others, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. Office options include hybrid/work-from-home flexibility, with emphasis on regulatory context and project goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Fisheries, Ecology, Botany, Geology, or related discipline required.
• Three to five plus years of professional environmental experience in land use, policy, or planning.

Responsibilities

• Conduct local and regional field investigations including wetland delineation and OHW determinations.
• Collect, document, and manage field data such as soils, hydrology, vegetation inventories, and site observations.
• Prepare technical reports and deliverables with strong scientific writing and QC.
• Utilize GIS, GPS, and related technologies for mapping and data visualization.
