Job summary

Soundview Consultants in the Pacific Northwest is seeking an Environmental Scientist for our Gig Harbor or Mount Vernon office. The role supports field investigations, data analysis, and technical reporting while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams on wetlands, streams, shorelines, and habitats.

Mid-career scientists who work independently and mentor others are encouraged. Experience with GIS/GPS and regulatory context is valued; remote/hybrid options are available where appropriate.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in biology, geology, ecology or related discipline.
• 3–5+ years of environmental science, policy, or planning experience.
• Wetland delineation experience preferred.
• WPIT or PWS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct local and regional field investigations including wetland delineation and OHW determinations.
• Collect, document, and manage field data such as soils, hydrology, vegetation, and site observations.
• Complete field reconnaissance with regulatory context and project goals.
• Prepare maps, wetland reports, and other technical deliverables with QC.
• Utilize GIS, GPS, and related technologies for mapping and data visualization.
• Review background information such as topographic maps and aerial imagery.
