Job Description
ProSidian seeks an Environmental Scientist (Scientist ESTS8) as a Key Personnel / Subject Matter Expert – Exempt 541611 located: CONUS. The role provides Energy, Resources, and Industrials Sector related Environmental Services Solutions for Support Services under the DOE-wide National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) BPA Services on behalf of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Golden Field Office (GFO), Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) Technical Support Services for the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant Program Office.
JOB OVERVIEW
Provide services and support as a Technical Support Scientist in the Energy, Resources, and Industrials Industry Sector focusing on Environmental Services Solutions for clients such as the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) GFO. The Specialist will act as an expert in soils, leading the preparation of technical sections within environmental documents.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Provide Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) Technical Support Services under NEPA for the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant Program Golden Field Office (GFO) under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law Provision.
- Act as soils technical specialist, providing technical reviews and ensuring quality assurance in soil assessments.
- Collaborate with internal staff and external partners, ensuring accuracy and compliance of soils-related documentation.
- Participate in periodic reviews, provide detailed technical analysis, and maintain meticulous documentation practices.
- Assist in development and execution of projects within the NEPA team.
- Perform NEPA Environmental Analysis and Determinations, develop draft documents, conduct data gathering, synthesize information for historic preservation reporting.
- Support NEPA Inbox functions: monitor and track submissions, provide reports, enter new project information into the NEPA Tracker, and forward emails and questions.
- Attend and document meetings, hearings, and phone calls, and support NEPA personnel in concept paper reviews.
- Track and report NEPA progress and record completed documents in designated locations.
- Participate in NEPA Environmental Consultations with agencies, prepare compliance documents, and assist in training development.
- Provide standard skills support: project management, leadership, time management, communication, and analytical skills.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline.
- Minimum of 10 years of environmental analysis and documentation experience.
- Substitution available: Master’s degree and 8 years of experience, or Doctorate and 6 years of experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products and Adobe suite.
- Strong technical writing, review, and communication skills.
SOILS EXPERTISE
- Specialized knowledge in soils assessment and analysis.
- Understanding of soil regulations and standards.
TECHNICAL WRITING
- Proficiency in preparing technical sections related to soils.
- Effective communication of soil findings.
