Job summary

TRC is seeking an Environmental Scientist/Industrial Hygiene Inspector to join our Windsor, CT Office. This position conducts hazardous building material inspections for asbestos, lead-based paint, and PCBs, and performs indoor air quality assessments.

Travel across Connecticut is expected; you will collect samples, coordinate with contractors, read project specifications, and prepare reports while engaging with clients and regulatory agencies.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read project specifications and drawings.
• Strong verbal communication skills required.
• Adaptability and flexibility to various work schedules, including emergency response.
• Intuitive and creative thinker with consultative demeanor and customer focus.
• Ability to work well in a team and coordinate with contractors and clients.

Responsibilities

• Perform hazardous building material inspections for asbestos, lead-based paint, PCBs.
• Perform indoor air quality inspections, water intrusion investigations, and mold assessments.
• Provide project oversight and coordination with contractors.
• Operate and maintain sampling equipment and related instruments.
• Collect samples, complete data sheets, and prepare shipments for laboratory analysis.
• Travel throughout Connecticut as required.
• Read project specifications and drawings, prepare reports for clients and regulatory agencies.
