Job summary

Matrix New World Engineering, a part of True Environmental and its partner firms, is seeking an Environmental Scientist I for its NYC office to lead project and field work, including Phase I and II environmental site assessments and remedial action workplans in the NYC metropolitan area.

The ideal candidate has at least two years of environmental consulting experience, strong writing and interpersonal skills, and a willingness to travel across NYC boroughs, Westchester, and Long Island; training

Qualifications

• BS in Environmental Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of environmental consulting experience.
• Experience with Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and Phase II investigations.
• Ability to train entry-level staff and lead field work.
• Willingness to travel across NYC boroughs, Westchester, and Long Island.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; strong writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead project and field work including Phase I and II assessments.
• Prepare remedial action workplans and technical reports.
• Oversee subcontractors during soil borings and groundwater work.
• Train junior staff and participate in QA reviews.
• Ensure compliance with ASTM E1527 and NYSDEC guidelines.
