Job summary

APTIM is seeking an Environmental Scientist/Geologist in California for our Solid Waste Services Group in the Concord area to support our exciting portfolio of projects.

Responsibilities include environmental compliance, GCCS design and QA/QC, and regulatory reporting, with field work and client coordination across multiple sites. Collaboration with a multidisciplinary team is essential to deliver high-quality solutions.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Geology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3–8 years of landfill/solid waste experience.
• Experience collecting environmental field data (groundwater, surface water, leachate, landfill gas).
• Ability to work on multidisciplinary projects.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Self-starter with problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations.
• Willing to wear PPE on hazardous waste sites.
• Commitment to a "Safety First" ethic.

Responsibilities

• Lead teams or projects.
• Prepare site and grading plans, GCCS design, pump and piping plans, and layouts for solid waste projects.
• Conduct field inspections and CQA oversight.
• Prepare regulatory compliance reports, work plans, and studies.
• Anticipate client needs and provide solutions.
• Solve complex problems using relevant knowledge.
• Prepare and manage scopes, budgets, and schedules.
• Coordinate with contractors and clients.
• Collaborate with team members.
• Provide additional duties as required.
• Oversee monitoring wells and supervise field tasks.
• Communicate technical concepts and results in team meetings; ensure compliance with standards and policies.
