Geosyntec Consultants, Inc. in California invites a Principal Civil/Environmental Engineer to lead complex landfill closure, redevelopment, and environmental remediation projects from Oakland or other CA locations.

You will provide senior technical leadership, mentoring, and client advisory support to regulators, attorneys, and project teams. The ideal candidate has 10+ years of consulting experience, a CA PE license, and deep knowledge of CA regulatory programs.

Qualifikationen

• 10+ years of relevant consulting, engineering design, project management, or construction management experience.
• Demonstrated technical expertise in landfill closure, post-closure care, redevelopment, and environmental remediation.
• Significant experience designing gas and vapor intrusion mitigation systems for methane, mercury vapor, radon, VOCs.
• Strong working knowledge of California and federal environmental regulatory programs and agencies (DTSC, RWQCB, CalRecycle, BAAQMD, USEPA).
• Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams through investigation, design, permitting, and redevelopment support.
• Proven ability to prepare and review technical deliverables and regulatory submittals.
• Experience applying probabilistic cost estimating, risk-informed planning, and cost recovery.
• Client relationship management and business development skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to travel to client, project, and office locations.

Aufgaben

• Lead and manage complex civil/environmental projects involving landfill closure, redevelopment, remediation, and construction support.
• Serve as Engineer in Responsible Charge for gas/vapor intrusion mitigation systems addressing multiple contaminants.
• Oversee design, QA, startup, operation, maintenance, and monitoring for mitigation systems per regulatory requirements.
• Provide senior technical leadership for landfill closure and redevelopment projects and related plans.
• Direct multidisciplinary teams across geotechnical, environmental, site/civil design, and remediation support.
• Develop and review plans, specs, cost estimates, remedial action plans, regulatory submittals, and reports.
• Apply probabilistic methods to cost estimating and risk-informed project planning.
• Provide litigation support and expert consulting as appropriate.
• Advise clients on regulatory strategy for brownfields, landfill, groundwater, and redevelopment projects.
• Build and maintain relationships with developers, agencies, attorneys, regulators, and project teams.
• Support business development through client engagement, proposals, and technical presentations.
• Mentor staff in engineering design, project management, and client service.
