Job summary

Ward Getz & Associates LLC (WGA) is seeking an Environmental Scientist to join our team in Houston, TX. The role involves field investigations, GIS-supported analyses, and regulatory compliance across diverse projects from industrial to municipal scales.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences with 0–3 years of applicable experience and may have a master’s degree preferred. Occasional travel and site visits are required as projects demand.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Environmental Engineering, or related field. Master’s preferred.
• 0–3 years of relevant environmental consulting experience.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with ArcGIS or other GIS software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with field investigations, including wetland and stream delineations and habitat assessments.
• Support Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments per ASTM standards.
• Coordinate with resource agencies and regulatory bodies for permitting and compliance.
• Prepare technical reports, field summaries, and permit applications.
• Collect and analyze field data; maintain field notes and documentation.
• Participate in public meetings and stakeholder engagement as needed.
