Job summary

Stantec seeks an Environmental Scientist to join our Environmental Services team in Buffalo, NY. The role involves wetlands delineations, field surveys, and environmental permitting activities across NY, with travel to Mid-Atlantic and Northeastern states.

The candidate will contribute to data collection, analysis, and reporting while working with multidisciplinary staff and ensuring safety during fieldwork. BS/MS in environmental discipline and 3–5 years of experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in an environmental discipline with knowledge of soils, vegetation, ecology and hydrology.
• 3 to 5 years of environmental and/or field experience.
• Experience delineating wetlands per Corps manuals and regional supplements is desired.

Responsibilities

• Wetland delineations and field surveys including rare, threatened and endangered species surveys.
• Environmental inspections to verify permit compliance (Stormwater and others).
• Assist with NYSDEC/USACE Joint Permit Applications and SEQR compliance.
• Summarize and present environmental field data; prepare reports.
