Job summary

Stantec Consulting International Ltd. seeks an Environmental Scientist to join our Environmental Services team in Buffalo, NY.

The role involves wetland delineations, field surveys, and preparing environmental reports while supporting NYSDEC/USACE permitting and SEQR compliance. The position requires 3–5 years of environmental field experience, willingness to travel across NY and neighboring states, and strong communication and leadership abilities.

Qualifications

BS or MS in an environmental discipline and knowledge of soils, vegetation, ecology and hydrology
3 to 5 years of environmental and/or field experience
experience delineating wetlands according to Corps manuals and regional supplements in NYS is desired

Responsibilities

Wetland delineations and field surveys across large and small scales
Environmental inspections to verify permit compliance
Support NYSDEC/USACE permit applications and SEQR compliance
Summarize, organize, and present environmental field data
Prepare reports on environmental regulatory compliance and impact analysis
Travel throughout NY, Mid-Atlantic and Northeastern states as needed
Coordinate fieldwork tasks, data collection, and communications with management and clients
Support investigation, monitoring and remediation at commercial/industrial facilities
