Job summary

NTH Consultants, Ltd. is a multi-disciplinary environmental consulting firm seeking a professional to join our Michigan team. The role involves field and office work supporting environmental assessments, site investigations, and regulatory compliance.

We offer a flexible-hybrid environment, competitive pay, and an ESOP-focused ownership culture. Travel to job sites across Michigan is required as needed.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years in environmental consulting with familiarity with environmental assessments, compliance audits, permitting, and field sampling/inspections and remediation.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, or comparable discipline.
  • Michigan Asbestos Building Inspector Certification preferred.
  • Ability to perform field and office duties, including non-standard hours and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a tight-knit team to provide sustainable solutions for clients.
  • Support client projects to achieve regulatory compliance, waste reduction, community development, and renewable energy goals.
  • Conduct pre-acquisition due diligence studies and Hazardous Materials/Asbestos Surveys.
  • Monitor drilling activities and collect soil, water, and soil gas samples for laboratory analysis.
  • Develop technical specifications and bidding documents for rehabilitation and demolition projects.
  • Perform other field and office tasks as needed.

How You Will Make An Impact
  • Collaborate with a tight-knit team of environmental professionals in a fast-paced work environment to provide sustainable solutions to a variety of clients.

Requirements
What You Bring to The Team
  • Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year accredited college or university in Civil or Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, or comparable discipline.
  • State of Michigan for Asbestos Building Inspector Certification preferred.
  • 2+ years experience in environmental consulting with familiarity with environmental assessments, compliance audits, permitting, and field sampling/inspections. and remediation.
  • Must be able to perform job duties in the field and office, during non-standard work hours, as necessary.
  • Must be able to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to manage workload and solve problems to support client and team project needs.
  • Must have exceptional communication and time management skills.
  • Experience with Phase I/II ESAs in accordance with ASTM E1527 and ASTM E1903.
  • Familiarity with BEAs and Due Care Plans in accordance with Michigan Part 201 rules.
  • Experience working with regulatory agencies including Michigan EGLE and EPA and navigating compliance requirements including underground storage tank removal and closure requirements.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel to and conduct field work at job sites/offices in Michigan.
