Job description

BGE is seeking an Assistant Project Manager in our Environmental Services department in North Texas. Reside in any of our 3 offices in North Texas: Ft. Worth, Downtown Dallas, Frisco.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Experience in report writing, conducting wetland delineations, leading field crews, and permitting processes.
  2. Preparation of NEPA documents.
  3. Data collection using GPS equipment; preparing GIS maps and exhibits.
  4. Preparing and reviewing environmental reports, permits, and related materials.
  5. Assisting clients with permit coordination, acquisition, and compliance.
  6. Proficiency in mitigation processes and procedures.
  7. Implementing and overseeing advanced QA/QC procedures.
  8. Communicating scientific and technical information to project teams and managers.
  9. Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
  1. 3-5+ years of environmental science experience supporting the transportation industry, including NEPA work with TxDOT, state or federal resource agencies, local governments, or MPOs.
  2. Bachelor’s degree or higher in environmental science, biology, ecology, natural resources, geosciences, geography, or a related field (preferred).
  3. Strong organizational and technical writing skills.
  4. Effective time management, communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  5. Professional presence and decision-making abilities.
  6. Ability to work effectively in teams and build strong relationships with overlapping project teams.
  7. Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and ArcGIS.
  8. Ability to conduct fieldwork in sometimes inclement weather and carry equipment weighing up to 20 pounds.
  9. Knowledge of NEPA and other regulatory requirements for environmental compliance and permitting.
