Job summary

SGS Dayton laboratory in New Jersey is seeking an Environmental Sample Courier to join the team. You will pick up samples from clients and deliver to SGS labs within the Long Island, NY geography, following a defined route and ensuring chain of custody.

You must have a high school diploma, a valid driver's license, and be able to read and follow instructions. The role requires safe driving, map-reading, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, with occasional travel to other SGS locations.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, understand and follow work instructions in a safe, accurate and timely manner.
• Map reading, of formal maps.
• Candidates must be personable and able to establish good relationships with clients (Required).
• Ability to work well with others & independently.
• Flexible work hours may be required from time to time.
• Travel to other SGS locations or client location (Required).
• Ensures full compliance with the company’s Health & Safety, Code of Integrity, and Professional Conduct policies. (Required).
• Ability to lift/carry/push and/or pull upwards of 50 lbs on a frequent basis (Required).

Responsibilities

• Following a pre-defined route, pick up samples from clients for delivery to SGS labs.
• Establish and maintain good relations with SGS customers/clients by providing courteous, efficient and professional pick up service of samples, and delivery of sampling supplies in a safe and timely manner.
• Complete log sheet and obtain customer signature for chain of custody and billing purposes.
• Take the temperatures of the samples upon receipt
• Maintain company vehicle in good order and in a clean condition.
• Maintain a safe and satisfactory driving record.
• Complete SGS Defensive Driver training courses as required.
