Job summary

The City of Anaheim Public Utilities Department seeks an experienced Environmental Services and Safety Manager to lead the Environmental and Safety Services Division. This role oversees environmental and safety programs for water and electric utility operations, groundwater protection, and water quality.

You will plan and direct goals, policies, budgets, and staffing; ensure compliance with laws; lead incident investigations; and collaborate with regional agencies.

Qualifications

• Six years of increasingly responsible environmental management experience.
• Two years of administrative and supervisory responsibility.
• Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, natural resources, engineering, or related field.
• Equivalent combination of experience and education may qualify.

Responsibilities

• Oversee environmental and safety programs for water and electric utility operations.
• Develop goals, policies, budgets, and staffing for the division.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulations.
• Lead incident after-action reviews and root cause investigations.
• Represent the department in regional environmental and safety initiatives.
• Provide staff training and performance evaluations.
