Job summary

Unknown company is seeking an experienced Safety & Environmental Manager to ensure compliance with Local, State and Federal EHS regulations. You will lead efforts toward OSHA VPP Star status, develop safety policies, conduct new hire safety training, and manage hazardous oversight including permits and reports.

The role requires coordinating monitoring and sampling for industrial hygiene, investigating incidents, and maintaining safety KPIs while traveling regionally as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal EHS regulations.
• Familiarity with OSHA, EPA and TCEQ guidelines and documentation.
• Progress towards or achievement of safety program recognitions such as OSHA VPP Star.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with Local, State and Federal EHS regulations.
• Ensure OSHA, EPA and TCEQ guidelines are met and all documentation is prepared and stored for the required timeframe.
• Provide ongoing support, leadership and guidance to achieve OSHA Star status under VPP.
• Develop, implement and maintain Safety & Health Policies, Plans and Procedures.
• Conduct new employee safety orientation training.
• Periodic/Annual training courses on safety issues relevant to the work environment.
• Provide ongoing support to facility personnel and leadership in hazard identification and incident reporting/investigation.
• Lead incident investigations to determine root causes and prevention.
• Conduct frequent plant safety inspections and observe safe/unsafe behaviors.
• Develop, maintain and report on key safety performance indicators.
• Schedule and coordinate required monitoring and sampling for Industrial Hygiene factors.
• Manage local/state permitting, sampling requirements and waste manifests (SDCP, Title V, IWW).
• The above duties are representative and not all-inclusive; travel regionally as needed.
