Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a seasoned ESH professional to implement corporate, field, and office safety policies across project sites in the U.S. You will lead safety programs, review regulatory guidance, and drive incident prevention with cross-functional teams.

The role requires 5+ years in ESH, strong OSHA/MSHA/DOT/EPA knowledge, and CCIP experience. Excellent communication and leadership are essential in a fast-paced construction environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Safety & Health or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of ESH experience required.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, MSHA, DOT, EPA regulations.
• Accreditations preferred: CHST, ASP, CSP, ICRA.
• Previous CCIP Experience Preferred.
• Basic Spanish language communication preferred.
• Industrial hygiene knowledge and best practices.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Teams).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to coach and develop teams.

Responsibilities

• Champion Layton Way by delivering predictable outcomes for internal teams, external partners, and customers.
• Uphold safety, honesty, unity, and quality of work across projects.
• Establish and reinforce safety culture with Layton and subcontractors on multiple U.S. project sites.
• Manage safety programs on all assigned projects, including CCIP and other risk initiatives.
• Provide regulatory and policy review, interpretation, and technical guidance.
• Review audits, observations, and injury statistics to identify risks and propose safety programs.
• Share data with leadership to develop corporate safety trends.
• Monitor new legislation affecting safety policies and propose updates.
• Oversee workers’ compensation issues on assigned projects.
• Conduct incident review meetings to reinforce accident prevention.
• Ensure compliance through monthly audit programs and training.
