Job summary

The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission's Montgomery Parks is seeking a Natural Resource Specialist II to support environmental review and restoration efforts in Montgomery County. You will assess project impacts, prepare recommendations, and engage with engineers, planners, staff, consultants, and the public.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in natural resources or related field.
• Three years of natural resources or wildlife management experience, or seven years total with education.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain related program certifications.
• Ability to read technical drawings and review design plans for impacts.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Concept Review of external projects to assess resource impacts.
• Attend review meetings with agencies, consultants, and stakeholders.
• Lead internal reviews and update leadership on project status.
• Identify constraints and mitigation opportunities for natural resources.
• Prepare technical reports, maps, and presentations for boards and officials.
• Support environmental restoration from design to construction, including GIS analysis.
