Job summary

State of West Virginia seeks a professional to lead the Hydrologic Protection Unit within the Division of Mining & Reclamation. You will supervise staff and oversee NPDES/401 permit reviews, coordinating with other divisions and external stakeholders to ensure efficient operations.

The role requires a Master's degree and 4+ years of related experience, with strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to chair meetings and participate in hearings.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a related field.
• Four years of full-time or equivalent experience in a related specialty area.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to supervise staff and coordinate with multiple divisions and agencies.

Responsibilities

• Supervise staff of professional, technical and administrative personnel and oversee permit review activities.
• Plan, organize, implement, monitor and control unit operations for efficient permit reviews.
• Coordinate activities with other divisions, offices and entities to align goals and promote cooperation.
• Chair meetings with WVDEP staff and industry/consultants on NPDES-related issues; attend conferences and hearings.
