Job summary

HNTB is seeking an Environmental & Public Involvement Intern for its 2027 Summer Program, with placement options in Austin or San Antonio, TX. The role provides part-time to full-time tasks under supervision, contributing to infrastructure project support and research.

The intern will assist in preparing reports, data analysis, and coordination across teams, while gaining exposure to environmental science and public involvement activities. Relocation is not provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent plus enrolled in a related undergraduate or graduate program.
• Pursuing a degree in Environmental Science, Natural Resources Sciences, Environmental Resource Management, Communications, English, Journalism, or a related field.
• Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to prioritize work and multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of tasks which may be specific to a particular functional area such as preparing reports, tracking and evaluating results, coordinating program developments, answering the phone, receiving messages, transmitting information, making copies, editing documents, handling routine inquiries and making appointments.
• Participates in meetings and interfaces with various teams.
• Assists management in analyzing various data.
• Works on special projects and provides research as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
