Job summary

Job description

This position is part of the Office of Environmental Compliance & Radiation Protection, Office of Environment, Health, Safety, and Security, Department of Energy. As an Environmental Protection Specialist, you will provide oversight and support to DOE programs and field offices with minimizing environmental risks and impacts, achieving compliance with environmental risks and impacts, achieving compliance with environmental protection and conservation regulatory requirements.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-13 in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as meeting ALL of the following

  1. Serving as a technical expert in cultural resource management and historic preservation.
  2. Providing technical advice and support on implementing and complying with cultural resource management requirements.
  3. Interpreting laws, regulations, and directives governing cultural resources management.
Education cannot be substituted for specialized experience at the GS-14 grade level.

Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
