Job summary

Nevada Division of Environmental Protection’s Office of Financial Assistance (OFA) in Reno seeks an Associate Engineer to assist funding for drinking water, wastewater, and storm water projects. You will review preliminary engineering reports, plans and design specs, oversee contracts and financial draws, and ensure compliance through construction.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or closely related field.
Certification as Engineer Intern (State Board) and two years of professional engineering experience in civil engineering or related field.
Two years of experience as Staff I, Associate Engineer or Supervisor I, Associate Engineer in Nevada State service.

Responsibilities

Design and analyze traffic systems including traffic signal systems, highway lighting systems, and sign structures.
Review and oversee construction inspections and ensure compliance with specifications.
Review water right applications and assist in hearings and rulings.
Provide water quality clearance for highway projects and ensure compliance with water quality regulations.
Review pollution control designs and environmental remediation projects.
Identify bridges and map locations for future scheduling; perform on-site inspections.
