Job summary

Terracon is seeking an Environmental Project Manager in California to oversee subsurface investigations, soil vapor assessments, and remediation actions for a diverse client base. You will support senior staff in developing new client relationships while coordinating with a team of experts to ensure projects run on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science or Geology with 5+ years of related experience; or 9+ years of related experience without a degree.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history may be required.
• Ability to independently analyze and interpret analytical data, technical reports, and regulatory guidance.
• Strong technical writing and business communication skills.
• Ability to present information verbally to managers and clients.
• Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills with a strong work ethic.
• Strong experience with environmental investigation and remediation for commercial/industrial, transportation and energy clients.
• OSHA Hazwoper training completed and current refresher.

Responsibilities

• Assist with proposal preparation and RFP/RFQ responses with internal staff and clients.
• Collaborate with geotechnical, facilities, and compliance lines for cross-selling opportunities.
• Manage subsurface investigations (Phase II ESAs, Limited Site Investigations, RI) to evaluate soil, groundwater and vapor.
• Manage remediation projects involving soil, groundwater and vapor actions.
• Identify and gather resources to complete projects: schedules, budgets, equipment, staff, and external contractors.
• Lead safety under the IIF culture, including pre-task planning and safety plan compliance.
• Resolve operational problems to minimize delays and coordinate field personnel, office staff, and subcontractors.
• Coordinate with accounting for financial management of billing and collections.
