Job summary

EnSafe is seeking an Environmental Project Manager (Geologist or Engineer) to lead investigation and remediation efforts from our Long Beach, CA office. You will manage interdisciplinary teams across offices, coordinate with clients and regulators, develop work plans, and oversee Phase I/II ESAs and sampling programs.

The role emphasizes technical leadership, mentorship, and growth within EnSafe’s environmental practice, delivering projects for industrial, commercial, and government clients

Qualifications

• BS from ABET-accredited college in Geology or Engineering (Chemical, Civil, Environmental).
• 5+ years environmental assessment/remediation experience.
• Has California GIT, EIT, or PG, PE.
• Experience with Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments.
• Experience in multi-media environmental sampling. PFAS sampling experience a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to convey technical information to diverse stakeholders.
• Proven ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams and provide mentorship or technical guidance to junior staff.
• Willingness and ability to travel in support of project needs, including overnight travel.
• Current OSHA 40-hr. HAZWOPER training and certification.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license with the ability to operate a vehicle for project-related travel.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee project work associated with environmental investigations and remediation oversight.
• Lead technical teams across multiple offices, problem-solving and meeting with clients and subcontractors.
• Communicate with clients, regulatory agencies, vendors, subcontractors and other stakeholders.
• Develop Work Plans and/or Sampling and Analysis Plans.
• Conduct site investigation activities, including sampling of soil, groundwater, surface water, indoor air, vapor intrusion, soil gas, and drinking water.
• Lead Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs).
• Compile and interpret investigation data and write technical reports.
• Evaluate feasibility of technologies, design pilot/bench tests, and remedial actions.
• Project sites may include commercial/industrial properties, federal facilities, or military installations.
