Job summary

Atlas is seeking an Environmental Project Manager, Retail Petroleum, to lead BUSTR-related environmental projects for major clients. You will manage corrective actions, permitting efforts, and UST upgrades while balancing technical quality, safety, and client commitments.

The role is hands‑on and collaborative, advancing projects efficiently through investigations to closure with a strong focus on regulatory compliance and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a science, advanced statistics, or engineering field.
  • 8+ years of environmental experience including BUSTR site investigations and Corrective Actions.
  • Completion of Site Exposure Modeling, Pathway Evaluation, and development of Concentration vs Time histograms.
  • Experience with BUSTR-Screen, BUSTR-Sheets, and ProUCL programs.
  • Strong safety mindset and experience implementing health and safety requirements.
  • Clear written communication skills and ability to review/edit technical reports.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
  • Experience and understanding of all BUSTR Rule sets.
  • Experience with Fate-Transport Modeling using BUSTR-Screen & Sheets.
  • 40‑hr HAZWOPER training.
  • Ability to travel statewide ~10% of the time.
  • Pass initial drug screen and motor vehicle background check

Responsibilities

  • Manage environmental projects from investigation through closure, with a focus on BUSTR compliance and corrective action
  • Oversee and complete technical reports, including Tier 2 calibrations, Tier 3 evaluations, and Remedial Action Plans
  • Coordinate project schedules, deliverables, and milestones to meet regulatory and client deadlines
  • Review reports for technical accuracy, clarity, and regulatory compliance
  • Support and mentor project staff development while reinforcing health and safety expectations
  • Communicate effectively with clients, regulators, and subcontractors to ensure timely work progression

Job Description

As an Environmental Project Manager, Retail Petroleum, you’ll lead environmental projects for major retail petroleum clients. You’ll manage and guide BUSTR corrective action, permitting, and UST upgrade efforts balancing technical quality, safety, and client commitments. This role is hands‑on, collaborative, and focused on moving projects forward responsibly and efficiently.

Core Responsibilities
  • Manage environmental projects from investigation through closure, with a focus on BUSTR compliance and corrective action
  • Oversee and complete technical reports, including Tier 2 calibrations, Tier 3 evaluations, and Remedial Action Plans
  • Coordinate project schedules, deliverables, and milestones to meet regulatory and client deadlines
  • Review reports for technical accuracy, clarity, and regulatory compliance
  • Support and mentor project staff development while reinforcing health and safety expectations
  • Communicate effectively with clients, regulators, and subcontractors to ensure timely work progression
