Job summary

Atlas is seeking an Environmental Program Manager to lead environmental investigation, remediation, and Brownfields projects across Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana. You will manage complex programs from proposal through completion while mentoring staff and supporting client growth.

The role is based in Sharonville, OH and requires senior-level expertise in environmental consulting, project management, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's in Environmental Science, Soil Science, Geology, Engineering, or other applied science.
  • At least 10 years of project management, staff management, field work, data evaluation, technical writing, and QA/QC in environmental consulting.
  • Subject matter expert for due diligence, site investigation, remediation, and environmental compliance procedures.
  • Experience with client management, business development, and local professional organizations.
  • Experience with health and safety implementation and supervision.

  • Maintain health and safety to achieve zero incidents and oversee proposal support.

Job Description

Atlas is seeking an Environmental Program Manager to lead environmental investigation, remediation, and Brownfields projects across Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana. In this role, you will manage complex projects from proposal through completion while supporting business growth, mentoring technical staff, and helping clients navigate environmental challenges safely and effectively.

This position is based in Sharonville, Ohio, and plays a key role in delivering projects that support environmental stewardship and community revitalization.

Core Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day operations for due diligence, subsurface investigation, remediation, and Brownfields projects throughout Ohio as well as Kentucky and Indiana, including all aspects of the project life cycle such as proposal generation, technical execution, reporting, and invoicing.

Provide strong technical leadership and mentorship for the Cincinnati team.

Manage projects that are large and complex in scope with multiple subcontractors and internal team members.

Identify and pursue new business opportunities and partnerships with clients and regulators to drive growth and expansion of the business.

Actively participate in professional and technical organizations appropriate for core skill set and client needs.

Provide senior review for reports by assisting with data interpretation, evaluation, and comparison to state and/or federal environmental regulatory standards.

Professionally interact with internal and external clients, service partners, and contractors.

Collaborate with other team members toward a common goal of providing client-centric services with high-quality interactions and deliverables.

Set a common vision and enable technical team members to be successful.

Identify and set goals for team members' contributions to a project.

Communicate with and align team behind scope of work to maximize outcomes for all stakeholders.

Manage health and safety to achieve zero incidents.

Provide assistance with proposal efforts, including technical approach, level of effort, and staffing requirements.

Assure timely and accurate submittal of invoices. Monitor and report the status of accounts receivable and recommend appropriate action on overdue accounts.

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Soil Science, Geology, Engineering, or other applied science,
  • At least 10 years experience with project management, staff management, field work, data evaluation, technical writing, and QA/QC in the environmental consulting field,
  • Subject matter expert for procedures and methodologies related to due diligence, site investigation, remediation, and/or environmental compliance,
  • Experience with client management, business development, and participation in local professional organizations,
  • Experience with implementation and supervision of health and safety requirements,
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Outlook, Teams, Excel, and PowerPoint),
  • Excellent time management skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple activities on an ongoing basis.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills,
  • Demonstrated ability to lead project teams with projects of advanced technical scope and complexity,
  • Ability to manage scope, schedule, and budget to maintain profitability of projects, and Experience with complex remediation projects
  • OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER certification, with current 8-hr annual refreshers
  • Familiar with SharePoint, MS Excel/Word, and PDF documents
  • Experience with environmental consulting and project management in Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky

About the Job
  • Employment Type: Full-time
  • Compensation: $110,000 - $130,000 annual salary
    The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the state’s law. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
