Job summary

Akima Intra-Data (AID) is seeking an Environmental Manager to lead environmental compliance, pollution prevention, hazardous materials and waste management, natural resources, and industrial hygiene efforts at Arnold Air Force Base. The role oversees EBS/EIP processes, regulatory documentation, and ensures contract deliverables are achieved on schedule.

The position requires U.S. citizenship, ability to obtain a Secret clearance, and professional engineering or equivalent environmental

Qualifications

• U.S. citizen with ability to obtain Secret clearance.
• PE/PG license or equivalent environmental credentials with 3+ years of relevant experience; or government environmental credentials.
• Bachelor’s or higher in engineering/science with 5+ years of relevant experience; or 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret PWS requirements and deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and supervision for environmental compliance, pollution prevention, hazardous materials/waste management, natural resources, ground safety, industrial hygiene, and related programs.
• Assign work, set priorities, and monitor daily operations to meet contractual deadlines.
• Develop procedures and training plans to ensure contract performance standards are met.
• Oversee Environmental Baseline Surveys/Environmental Inspection processes per 40 CFR Part 312 and Air Force guidance.
• Ensure timely and accurate regulatory documentation and reporting to satisfy federal/state/contract requirements.
• Lead branch self-inspection program, identify deficiencies, and coordinate corrective actions with COR.
• Engage with Government customers and regulators on branch operations and contract performance.
• Recruit, hire, onboard, train, and mentor staff; conduct performance reviews and development planning.
• Develop schedules, approve timecards, monitor leave, and manage budget; ensure expenditures stay within limits.
• Coordinate vehicle/equipment readiness and maintenance as required by the contract.
• Prepare reports, memoranda, and presentations for leadership and Government customers.
• Promote environmental stewardship, workplace safety, and continuous improvement.
