Job summary

TTL is seeking an Environmental Professional to support our Tennessee operations in Nashville. The role involves performing field environmental sampling, monitoring conditions, and preparing reports while coordinating with environmental agencies.

Candidates should have a BS in a related field, 1–5 years of experience, and the ability to travel overnight. A valid driver’s license and physical fitness for outdoor work are required; OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER is preferred.

Qualifications

  • BS in environmental science, biology, geology, engineering or related field.
  • 1-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to communicate professionally orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Valid driver's license with good driving record.
  • Ability to travel overnight, extended on occasion, sometimes with short notice.
  • Physical fitness: heavy lifting up to 50+ lbs; outdoor work in hot/cold; respirator certification.
  • Mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
  • Preferred: OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification.

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine field environmental sampling of groundwater, storm water, soil, etc.
  • Monitors, observes, samples, and records field environmental conditions.
  • Prepares daily reports and data sheets; operates with close to moderate supervision.
  • Assists and conducts environmental surveys, wetland delineations, habitat assessments and biological monitoring.
  • Includes map reading, chain-of-custody forms, equipment measurements, environmental site inspections, and field inspections for drilling access and general utility clearance.

What You'll Do
  • Performs routine field environmental sampling of groundwater, storm water, soil, etc.
  • Monitors, observes, samples, and records field environmental conditions.
  • Follow proper procedures, perform accurate computations, and maintains cordial relationships with coworkers, clients, contractors, etc.
  • Prepares daily reports and data sheets. Operates with close to moderate supervision.
  • Assists and conducts environmental surveys, wetland delineations, habitat assessments and biological monitoring.
  • Typical activities include, but are not limited to: map reading, maintain chain-of-custody forms, utilize equipment to measure field parameters, environmental site inspections, and field inspections for drilling access and general utility clearance.
Requirements:
  • BS in environmental science, biology, geology, engineering or related field
  • 1-5 years of experience in related field
  • Ability to communicate professionally orally and in writing
  • Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record
  • Ability to travel overnight, extended on occasion, sometimes with short notice
  • Physical Fitness: perform heavy lifting up to 50+ lbs; possess sufficient stamina to work in outdoor (hot & cold) environment; be certified to wear a respirator
  • Possess mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot and repair equipment
  • Preferred: OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification
