Job summary

TTL is hiring a Construction Materials Field Technician in Nashville, TN. The role focuses on monitoring materials, performing field and lab tests, and ensuring compliance with project specifications.

You will prepare reports and support teams on site, with opportunities for advancement as you gain certifications. The position offers hourly pay from $20.00 to $26.00, full-time hours, and a benefits package including health, dental, vision, a 401(k), FSA options, and PTO.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in physical sciences or math preferred.
• Ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing.
• Valid driving record and ability to drive to job sites.
• Able to lift 50+ pounds in field conditions.
• Outdoor work in hot or cold environments.
• One year of soil, concrete, earthwork, or asphalt testing experience preferred.

What You'll Do

• Monitor, observe, and sample materials used in construction work
• Perform routine field and laboratory tests and inspections to verify conformity with construction plans and specifications
• Follow proper procedures, perform accurate computations, and maintain cordial relationships with coworkers, clients, and contractors
• Prepare daily reports and data sheets
• Operate with close to moderate supervision

Requirements

• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; college coursework or degree with an emphasis in physical sciences and/or math preferred
• Ability to professionally communicate both orally and in writing
• Good driving record
• Perform heavy lifting of 50 or more pounds
• Work in outdoor (hot or cold) environments
• One year of testing experience in soil, concrete, earthwork, and asphalt preferred (but not required)
