Job summary

Illinois Soybean Association (ISA) is seeking an Environmental Policy Manager to serve as lead SME on environmental, conservation, and regulatory issues affecting Illinois soybean farmers. This role manages governmental relations and community engagement to advance ISA's Government Affairs objectives.

You will translate complex regulations into actionable guidance, educate officials and stakeholders, and support advocacy through credible expertise and relationship building.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 7+ years in state/local government affairs or public policy.
• Deep understanding of U.S. and Illinois government structure and processes.

Responsibilities

• Monitor policy developments impacting agriculture and soybean production; maintain relationships with lawmakers and staff.
• Develop expertise in environmental programs, EPA regulation, ag inputs regulation, nutrient management, water and soil health.
• Write detailed public comments to federal and state agencies on environmental issues affecting the soybean industry.
• Lead outreach to communities, associations, policymakers, and stakeholders.
• Advise ISA leadership and support Government Affairs objectives.
