Job summary

The role includes advocacy execution, drafting public comments, testimony, and letters, and coordinating with state affiliates. Ideal candidates have at least 2 years in legislative or on-farm policy, a BA in agriculture, business, political science, or related field, and strong written and verbal communication.

Qualifications

  • Experience (at least 2 years) on legislative or on-farm policy issues, including farm safety net programs and federal agricultural support.
  • Strong communications and writing skills for technical and summary policy documents.
  • Ability to work in a bipartisan, diplomatic, and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead ASA's farm policy and operations policy portfolio and advocacy execution.
  • Draft public comments, formal testimony, and policy letters.
  • Engage with lawmakers, allied associations, and ASA state affiliates; build relationships with stakeholders.
  • Develop federal advocacy materials and coordinate across ASA functions.
