Job summary

Kimley-Horn's Salt Lake City office is seeking an Environmental Planner with 2+ years of experience to join our Environmental Planning team. This is not a remote position.

You will prepare Environmental Quality Act documents, support master and specific plans, and collaborate with project managers across transportation, land use, and development projects. Strong writing and GIS skills are important for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Degree in environmental planning or a closely related field.
• At least 2+ years of experience conducting environmental studies for local agencies and private entities.
• AICP certification is preferred.
• Experience with a wide range of tasks related to environmental planning.
• Knowledge of NEPA compliance is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Environmental Quality Act documents, environmental impact reports, and related declarations.
• Assist in Specific Plans, Master Plans, and other planning documents for infill and land development projects.
• Support project managers and collaborate with team members.
• Gain expertise in sustainability, climate action planning, ENVISION, LEED, and Salmon-Safe.
• Handle environmental clearance for local comprehensive plans and land use planning.
• Work on infrastructure projects across transportation, transit, land planning, and aviation.
