Your Opportunity

Stantec seeks a Visual Resources Specialist to support our visual impact assessment and visualization services across the eastern U.S. You will be integral to project planning, impact assessment, technical analysis, and team coordination, supporting clients in power generation, electrical transmission, energy storage, and other markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Work under the Visual Resources Practice Lead for the eastern U.S., applying your experience in technical writing, site photography, task coordination, and creating photorealistic simulations for visual impact assessments. Experience in supporting permit applications is highly beneficial.
• Support multiple projects, coordinate diverse technical teams, and communicate directly with clients to solve problems.
• Travel up to 10-20% annually for site visits, potentially for up to a week.
• Assist with planning and permitting support for power and transmission projects, including desktop surveys and analysis.

Qualifications

Required

• 3-5 years of experience in producing or supporting VIAs, especially within environmental review frameworks.
• Strong research, analysis, reporting, writing, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, interpret site layouts, maps, and aerial photos.
• High-quality work ethic, teamwork, willingness to learn, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Valid driver’s license, ability to perform fieldwork, lift up to 50 lbs, and experience in power, transmission, or utilities sectors.

Preferred

• Experience with NEPA, State Environmental Reviews, and assessments by agencies like BLM, FHWA, USFS.
• Familiarity with tools such as DSLR cameras, Autodesk 3ds Max, Adobe Creative Cloud, and WindPro for shadow flicker analysis.

Education & Experience

• BA/BS in Landscape Architecture, Urban or Environmental Planning, Environmental Science, or related field.
• Ability to perform fieldwork and work in both office and site environments.
