Job summary

WSP seeks an Environmental Planner / Project Manager to join our Earth & Environment Team in Boston or Chelmsford, MA. You will manage multiple projects, lead project teams, and develop client relationships while advancing permitting and environmental analyses.

The role requires a strong track record in environmental permitting, QA/QC, and experience with Massachusetts EFSB and DPU Siting Division. Travel may be required as projects span New England.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies, Biology, Natural Sciences or Ecology, Environmental Planning, Environmental Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 9+ years of experience managing environmental permitting and planning projects for energy-related projects.
  • Experience with the Massachusetts EFSB and DPU Siting Division.
  • Ability to lead mid-level to senior staff with QA/QC discipline.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal communication with all organizational levels.
  • Experience in proposals, presentations, and price structuring.

Responsibilities

  • Managing multiple projects at various stages and locations.
  • Leading project teams for key clients.
  • Leading business development and proposal preparation.
  • Developing strategy for public involvement programs and attending public meetings.
  • Serving as siting and environmental permitting subject matter expert.
  • Directing routing/siting studies, analyses, and related reports.
  • Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams such as planners, engineers, attorneys, and real estate experts.
  • Mentoring staff for growth and development.
  • Adhering to Code of Conduct and company policies.
  • Performing additional responsibilities as required.
