Job summary

Stantec is seeking an Environmental Planner Project Manager to lead NEPA projects on Federally-owned lands from its Solana Beach, CA office, with a potential remote hybrid work arrangement.

Responsibilities include budget and schedule management, coordinating multi‑discipline teams, and preparing environmental impact documents (EA/EIS) and mitigation plans. A bachelor’s degree and 5+ years NEPA PM experience are required, with strong writing and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of related work experience as a project manager with NEPA project management experience.
• Strong technical writing, analytical and oral communication skills.
• Good organizational and multi‑tasking abilities; attention to detail and quality control.
• Ability to work across time zones and manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to obtain security clearances for military installations if required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Environmental Planner Project Manager or Deputy Project Manager for NEPA projects on Federally‑owned lands, including schedule and budget management and client communications.
• Lead preparation and review of environmental impact documents (EA, EIS) and mitigation plans; review field surveys and technical studies informing NEPA documents.
• Mentor junior environmental planners as Subject Matter Expert in regulatory processes and NEPA document analysis.
• Manage project team, contracts, deliverables, and administrative records; oversee safety and contracting processes.
• Report to Solana Beach, CA office with potential for remote hybrid work arrangement.
