Job summary

AECOM is seeking an Environmental Specialist/Planner in Huntsville, AL to support NEPA documentation, environmental compliance, and permitting under the TEAMS contract with MDA. Hybrid work may be possible with some travel and field involvement.

The role requires a background in environmental sciences, knowledge of relevant laws, and strong writing and analysis skills, with a focus on coordinating with diverse teams across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, biology, geology, or related field + 2 years of experience or equivalent education/experience
• Familiar with federal, state and local environmental laws and regulations
• U.S. Citizenship is required
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass MVR review

Responsibilities

• Provide research and technical writing to support development of NEPA documents.
• Interpret and apply environmental statutes, regulations, and Executive Orders for compliance.
• Support regulatory consultations with resource management agencies.
• Assist with client or stakeholder meeting preparation, facilitation, and documentation.
• Assist with air permit applications and reports for regulatory submittal.
• Participate as a field crew member for baseline environmental surveys and site assessments.
