Job summary

The Prince George’s County Department of The Environment in Largo, MD is seeking an Environmental Planner III to support sustainable waste management initiatives and environmental planning efforts. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in urban and regional planning, public administration, economics, environmental science, or related fields.
• Two years of professional planning/program development experience in environmental planning.
• Possession of a valid state issued driver's license.
• Any equivalent combination of relevant training, education and experience may also be considered.

Responsibilities

• Participates in the development of policies and procedures for recycling, composting, and source reduction programs.
• Maintains reports on recycling, composting and waste diversion efforts.
• Assists with developing educational materials on recycling and composting and provides technical assistance to the commercial sector.
• Represents the Division at meetings with the public or other governmental entities to advance county policies.
• Plans special events to promote recycling and waste reduction.
