Job summary

HDR is seeking an Environmental Planner I to support utility clients with environmental compliance, permitting, and local planning. This role focuses on construction stormwater management permitting and related approvals, with involvement in land use, development, and public outreach.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Environmental Science, Resources, or Planning.
• Excellent writing and communication skills.
• Self-starter with strong organizational and research abilities.

Responsibilities

• Review local, State, and Federal regulations for applicability to projects.
• Review engineering design packages for environmental permitting compliance.
• Develop permitting matrices and timelines for client templates or schedules.
• Review engineering plans, GIS/CAD, and permit conditions for environmental compliance.
• Manage simple permitting efforts and support project manager with complex permitting.
