Job summary

Stantec is seeking two Environmental Planners to support CEQA/NEPA compliance across California infrastructure projects. Roles may be based in Pasadena or Irvine, with hybrid/remote options and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years in environmental planning, strong technical writing, and the ability to manage multiple projects and clients. Master’s degree is a plus, and a valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Environmental planning or related field.
Minimum 4 years of professional experience in environmental planning and CEQA/NEPA.
Experience preparing environmental documentation for infrastructure projects.
Strong technical writing, analytical and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Hybrid/remote work capability; valid driver's license with clean record.

Responsibilities

Prepare and manage CEQA and NEPA compliance documents (IS, MND, EIR, EA, EIS).
Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams, agencies, and clients on environmental review and permitting.
Conduct environmental analyses across resource areas and assist with impact assessments.
Manage multiple assignments and schedules while delivering quality work on time.
Support public outreach and stakeholder engagement, including presentations and comment responses.
Assist with project management tasks: scope, schedule, budget, and client communications.
Mentor junior staff and contribute to growth of the environmental planning practice.
