Actalent is seeking an Environmental Permitting Specialist in Topeka, KS, to join a multidisciplinary team handling large-scale environmental and construction permitting projects. You will conduct due diligence, identify permitting needs, and coordinate with regulators and clients to secure required permits within project timelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, geology, geography or related field.
• 1–2 years of experience in environmental permitting or regulatory compliance.
• Experience with environmental and construction permitting processes.
• Strong understanding of environmental science and regulatory concepts.
• Ability to manage permitting timelines and communicate status updates.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed project due diligence reviews (wetlands, Phase I/II ESAs, biology).
• Identify required permits by reviewing project scope with regulators.
• Coordinate with regulators on pathways, timelines, and expectations.
• Gather and organize information for permit applications.
• Prepare, submit, and track permit applications to align with schedules.
• Support project management with documentation and milestone tracking.
• Collaborate with scientists, engineers, and other professionals.
• Communicate complex permitting information in reports and presentations.
• Use MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, and ESRI ArcGIS Pro to analyze data.
