Job summary

Actalent seeks an Environmental Project Manager to lead environmental diligence, permitting, and remediation projects in Kansas, Missouri, and nearby areas. You will ensure on-time delivery, budget control, and adherence to high-quality standards while communicating with clients.

The role requires 3–5+ years in environmental consulting, a geology degree, and a Kansas license (or ability to obtain within a year).

Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years in environmental consulting and/or environmental project management.
  • Bachelor's degree in geology or related field.
  • License to practice geology in Kansas or ability to obtain within 1 year.
  • Proven project management skills with multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Experience conducting Phase I Environmental Site Assessments.
  • Experience conducting Phase II ESAs and interpreting environmental data.
  • Strong knowledge of federal/state environmental regulations for due diligence, permitting, and remediation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, for data entry and reporting.
  • Experience with documentation management for permitting and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficiency with ArcGIS for mapping and spatial analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Lead planning, execution, and completion of environmental projects across Kansas, Missouri, and surrounding areas.
  • Define project scope, schedules, and allocate resources.
  • Develop and monitor budgets to stay within limits.
  • Serve as primary client contact and ensure expectations and timelines are met.
  • Conduct Phase I and Phase II ESAs and analyze data to support decisions.
  • Prepare clear regulatory reports addressing client needs.
  • Collaborate with project scientists, engineers, and regulators.
  • Ensure compliance with EPA and state regulations and guidelines.
  • Develop relationships with regulatory agencies for updates and guidance.
  • Maintain thorough project documentation and permitting records.
  • Utilize Excel and ArcGIS for data management and reporting.
