Job summary

Calpine Corporation is seeking an Environmental Project Manager to oversee complex environmental development projects, including air and water permitting, regulatory analysis, and NEPA compliance. Travel up to 25% to various office or plant locations is required.

You will advise Operations, Engineering, Origination, and Legal on environmental requirements and review site assessments to support development of power projects and related activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or similar field; or equivalent experience.
• Masters degree is preferred.
• 10+ years of relevant experience and substantial knowledge of environmental permitting.

Responsibilities

• Maintains in-depth knowledge of environmental regulations, permitting processes, and data collection.
• Interprets environmental regulations and permit conditions; works with agencies to complete permitting actions.
• Drives continuous improvement in systems, programs, and training across environmental compliance.
• Partners with Plants, Gov/Reg, Legal, Engineering, Origination to ensure compliance.
• Travel up to 25%; assists with NEPA-related activities and public participation requirements.
