Job summary

Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development is seeking an Environmental Project Manager/Program Manager to lead environmental planning, analysis, documentation, permitting, public involvement, and compliance for transportation projects. A professional engineering license is required, with Louisiana licensure or reciprocity a must before appointment.

Salary is complemented by a Special Entrance Rate and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

Professional engineering license required; licensure in Louisiana preferred; if licensed in other states, must obtain Louisiana license prior to appointment.
Two years of licensed engineering experience or six years of professional engineering experience; master's/doctorate may substitute for part of experience.
Experience in highway traffic noise studies and/or transportation air modeling and/or environmental permitting may substitute for some requirement (1 year licensed or 3 years un-licensed professional).

Responsibilities

Serve as technical expert in environmental engineering and permitting for transportation projects.
Conduct complex environmental analyses, field investigations, and permitting evaluations; prepare permit applications (e.g., Corps of Engineers, Coast Guard, water quality).
Provide technical review of plans, drawings, and reports.
Develop or update engineering policies, standards, and procedures related to environmental permitting.
Coordinate with federal, state, and local agencies and stakeholders; support public meetings and hearings.
