Responsibilities

• The Environmental Operator is responsible for ensuring the safety of themselves and the team and helping to lead in the continuous improvement of the safety practices across the division.
• The Environmental Operator will be responsible for the compliance with State and Federal environmental regulations through the operation and maintenance of baghouses, water systems, and all other associated equipment.
• The position will focus on maintaining continuity between shifts in areas such as project management and planning down day/outage jobs.
• The Environmental Operator will participate in various inspections, visible emission observations, water chemistry testing, radiation detection, spill response, housekeeping, and other environmentally related tasks.
• Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
